Our Adoption Procedures

If you are thinking of adopting an animal, please note that our procedure is as follows:

For Cats and Dogs

You complete an application form at the Shelter (we cannot send you a form, as we need to go through it with you). You will be welcome to visit the kennels and the cattery, and view the animals awaiting adoption, but we regret that no interest can be noted until after your home visit.

An appointment will be made for our representative home visitor to visit you at home.

Following your home visit, you return to the Shelter, and you are able to express your interest in a dog or cat. Once the animal’s assessment has been completed, and providing it is available and suitable for you, you may reserve it.

£60 to £70 for a cat / kitten (may be more in some cases) - this includes neutering, microchipping, at least the first vaccination, flea treatment, worming, check over by a vet, and four weeks insurance cover.

After adoption, a further home-visit will be arranged to ensure that the animal and the new owner are happy with each other.
